CLARK RECEIVES HIS MONTHLY AWARD BUT MILLERS FURIOUS WITH FA DECISION!

Carlton Town midfielder Oliver Clark received his December club player of the month award from Kelvin prior to the Stamford defeat but the player and club were hit by some bad news prior to kick off.

The club had appealed last weeks red card at Pickering when a water bottle thrown back into the technical area during a break in play following what looked like a bad challenge on Henry Rollinson for which the referee took no action, had knocked the flag from the referees assistant’s hand.

After consulting the assistant, the referee showed Oliver Clark a straight red card and he protested vehemently that he was not the guilty party.

Both reports on this website after speaking to club officials and the supporters website indicated a case of mistaken indentity.

The club asked Pickering for video evidence but because their was a break in play and nothing contentious was happening, the camera man had stopped filming only restarting when he realised Clark was being sent off.

The incident in itself was accidental with no malice and Connor Bartle admitted it was him who threw the bottle and with further witness statements to back that up, the club which is not in the habit of appealing red cards did so on this occasion.

However the Fa determined the witnesses were not telling the truth and increased his ban from three games to four games.

The club are obviously bitterly disappointed with the decision which leaves them without a key player as they battle for their survival at step four.
