DANIELS TAKE THEIR REVENGE AT STOKE LANE!

Earlier in the season, Carlton earned what some described as a smash and grab at Stamford and The Daniels took their revenge with a convincing 4-0 win at Stoke Lane.

Brown-Hill gave Stamford an early lead before man of the match Robert Morgan made it 2-0.

Carlton were much improved in the second half and had Stamford on the back foot but failed to take advantage of their one big chance when Tyler Blake’s tame penalty was well saved by the Stamford keeper.

That really could have been a turning point for Carlton because Stamford were on the back foot at the time.

Carlton were without two of their key players with Apouko and Clark suspended and a number of other players injured, but Stamford were a class above in fairness and it was no surprise when Morgan added his second after the penalty let off, before Ryan Seal made it four late on.

Carlton will be disappointed with the way some of the goals were conceded with individual mistakes contributing to their downfall, but despite the hard work of strikers Blake and Stovell, chances were few and far between.

The substitutions made an impact in the second half and the penalty moment was pivotal, but the truth is Stamford deserved their win and season on season, Carlton are finding it increasingly difficult to compete at this level and are once again in another tough battle at the bottom end of Evostick Division One East.

Carlton are down to 16th in the table and face another tough encounter next week when they visit Ossett Albion.
