NEWS UPDATE FROM STOKE LANE AHEAD OF SHEFFIELD CLASH!

In the week where the club welcomed Robbie McNicolas back to the fold, manager Wayne Scott was hit with another major setback when inform Niall Davey picked up another shoulder injury in training which could keep him out for the rest of the season.

Carlton’s defence played as well as they have done all season last Saturday and Davie was a key component of that along with his attacking threat.

Scott has had do without quality signings Mamoke Akaunu and Khyle Sargent for practically the whole season, both picking up serious long term injuries and supporters will remember Tyler Blakes’s devastating injury in his debut this season although he at least is fit again!

Carlton have a busy week at Stoke Lane coming up with a major Showmans Guild football event at the ground on Monday and on Tuesday they will be hosting the wake following the sad death of Stevie Hoods.

The funeral will be at St Paul’s Church in Carlton at 11am before departing for Carlton Cemetery and then to the Clubhouse for around 12.30pm when friends and family can come and have a drink in his memory. Supporters are welcome to come and pay their respects to the man who helped prevent the Clubhouse burning to the ground a few years ago.

The clubs Academy side suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Mossley this week at Stoke Lane and drop to sixth in the league after their second defeat on the bounce.

Finally as reported earlier, Carlton will play Kimberley Miners Welfare on Wednesday 20th March in the Semi Final of the Notts Senior Cup with a 7.45pm kick off.
