OPOKU GRABS LIFELINE FOR MILLERS AT STOKE LANE!

Aaaron Opoku followed up his decent display in the Nottinghamshire County Cup Final by scoring a vital equaliser for Carlton in their home clash with Stocksbridge this weekend.

Carlton were much improved in the Cup final after last Saturday’s thrashing at Frickley, despite going down 3-0 to Evostick Premier League neighbours Basford United and carried that improved form into the Stocksbridge game.

Match Ball sponsor and former Carlton Academy chief Ian Spencer felt Carlton created enough chances to have won the game and the Supporters Club website update tells a similar story, but without Opoku’s equaliser after Tyler Blake’s shot had been tipped onto the post, it would have been another defeat, so it may be a case of taking the positives and moving on to the next game, which is an away trip to Loughborough Dynamo on Tuesday, Carlton’s game in hand.

Carlton then visit Brighouse this coming Saturday before their day at the races on Easter Sunday and then a local Derby v AFC Mansfield on Easter Monday.
