BIZARRE SET OF RESULTS SHOW ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN!

Carlton Town hosted their first Corporate Football Tournament with 6 local companies competing for winners medals and a Castle Rock Brewery tour.

Lee Carrington Painters and decoraters and The 3D Group set the early pace and looked the teams to beat.

Carlton Town Chairman Mick Garton had missed his teams (Msr) first two fixtures as he was busy re writing the schedule after Camms dropped out at the last minute.

Msr lost those two games but hit back winning the next two and drawing their final game to progress to the Semi Finals.

Lee Carrington headed the table winning 4 and drawing one and 3D were second winning 3, drawing one and losing one.

Adtrak qualified by the skin of their teeth with one win, two draws and 2 defeats.

Both Semi Finals went to penalties and Adtrak who had come 3rd and 4th both won in the shootout as the two early pace setters ran out of steam.

Msr who had slowly grown into the competition would have fancied themselves in the final but the now ageing and rotund John Hickling kept blazing over the bar.

Brandon Lindsay-Smith gained legendary Adtrak status with a wonder strike to secure a 1-0 final win and put a huge smile on the face of captain Tom Nightingale and his team mates.

All the teams came in the bar including Air It and Lindleys who did not reach the knockout stage and took part in Alan Roomes brilliant quiz and Lee Carrington and his young boys gained some consolation by winning that with the lively 3D group coming second.

It was a successful night indeed and Ryan at Lindleys whose idea it was to stage the event is determined to bring it back in 2018 with more teams, Tom and his mates will be looking forward to defending the trophy but in the short term looking forward to a Castle Rock Brewery tour, their prize for a fantastic win!
