Promotion Confirmed

Carlton Town fans may have been starved of football this weekend as their clash with Gresley Fc became a victim of the weather, but those who were able to attend the Christmas Luncheon certainly got their full dose of entertainment in the Clubhouse Sportsbar.

Paul McGregor was the clubs very special Christmas speaker and he let no one down with tales of Cloughie, Frank Clarke and Ron Atkinson to name but 3.

Paul also talked about his time on the road with his bands and is pictured from back in the day in full flow as he traveled the world after his career change, following a disappointing spell at Northampton Town.

The club were busy fund raising as ever and would like to thank Castle Rock in particular, Msr Newsgroup, Boatsy and Dave Hodgson for their superb support for this memorable event, their contributions were outstanding and a massive help to the football club.

Supporters and sponsors feedback was all excellent and the club were delighted to present new away kit sponsors Lindleys with a shirt hot off the press and the club is extremely grateful to them and to Lee Carrington who sponsored the rear of the shirt, Lee was also in the house in what was once again a complete sell out at Stoke Lane.

Carlton are set to begin their defence of the Notts Senior Cup this coming Wednesday v Rainworth at Stoke Lane, but the weather forecast ahead would already suggest that game could be in doubt.

One thing not in doubt was the impression Paul McGregor or was it Paul McKenna, made on the Carlton Town faithful, Christmas had arrived and McGregor just like when he was scoring goals was on fire, what a cracking festive afternoon!
