Promotion Confirmed

Carlton Town Chairman Mick Garton returned from a few days in the Tenerife sunshine looking forward to taking in some football in front of a bumper new year crowd at Stoke Lane with Corby Town set to visit Stoke Lane for the first time.

"We took a couple of calls before I left with Corby fans making us aware they planned to bring a few and to print extra programmes etc which we duly arranged, so I was gutted when I arrived back and found how bad the weather had been and that we would be unable to play"

"We have dropped to one point off the bottom with a sequence of postponements and two or three bad results and badly need to get our season back on the road, the positive is we have lots of games in hand but obviously need to turn some of those into points"

"Just before I left for a few days away, we tied plans up for our next fundraiser with a combined Pool and Darts marathon on Friday 2nd March"

"Myself and Tom Nightingale look forward to defending our Pool Trophy and this year we will have extra competition with new sponsor Lee Carrington set to get involved with a partner and press officer Josh Hodgson also saying he will do the same, we will also add some darts into the mix to keep us all occupied during the 12 hours"

"Roger Gailbraith and Gaz Bee are committed once again, so hopefully there will be 8 of us on board and will we try and finish the evening with a singer or a quiz and once again raise much needed funds for this football club" said the Chairman.
