DOUBLES FOR LUCAS AT RADFORD!

Carlton Town after an early second half scare turned in a dominant late display to win their Nottinghamshire Senior Cup Quarter Final at Radford 6-1 this evening despite missing an early penalty when Danny Gordon blazed over the bar.

Radford put up a plucky display and were very very much in the game at 1-1 but once Danny Elliot had given Carlton a 2-1 lead and Akaunu had made it 3, the home side fell apart somewhat and Carlton punished them to run out 6-1 winners.

Ben Hutchinson had opened with a first half header and Jordan Wilson was once again on the scoresheet before Lucas (pictured) contributed with two late goals to give the score line a comprehensive look.

Carlton Chairman Mick Garton spent most of the game chatting with Radford Chairman Bob Thomas and the Radford commitee and was clearly impressed with the improvements at the club since Carlton last visited.

Manager Wayne Scott meanwhile will be hoping Carlton can take their cup form into their forthcoming league games starting with Saturdays trip to Market Drayton.
