Carlton finally got back to winning ways at Stoke Lane after a spate of postponments and 2 draws and 1 defeat in the last 3 games at Stoke Lane.
In summary,Rushall had the best of the first half and Carlton the best of the second and the game could have gone either way.Carlton produced some last ditch tackles and saves as Rushall played some fine football before the interval.Carlton stepped up to the plate in the second period but only looked like scoring after Tommy Brookbanks made some positive changes and it was lively subsitute Anthony Griffiths who made an impact as he took on and ran at Rushall in an impressive spell which led to Karl Slack striking home the winner, all be it after a mistake by Rushall's keeper who completly miskicked his clearance as he advanced out of his area.
A special mention for Grant Brindly who had to go between the sticks after Carlton keeper Ali Barcherini came off injured and young centre half Danny Hayes who continues to progress and impress.
Carlton blew the chance of making it nine points from nine in January when they conceded 2 sloppy late goals to allow Loughborough to come from 3-1 down to level 3-3.
Carlton took an early lead through Trist Whitman before Loughborough had a good spell and pulled level through Lester on the half hour.Jenkins restored Carlton's lead with a header before a Trist Whitman special saw the home side going in at the break 3-1 up.
In the 2nd period,Carlton had good spells of pressure,Jenkins hit the post and it seemed only a matter of time before Carlton would put the game behind doubt. However Loughborough had different ideas and never gave up and in the 85th minute a mix up between Brindley and his goalkeeper saw Brindly score an own goal and Carlton's misery was complete when Noble made it 3-3 in the 87th minute as Carlton commited defensive suicide.
Ball nearly won it for Carlton in the 89th minute before Loughborough again caught Carlton on the break in injury time and twice went close to taking all 3 points.

Cartlon started the brighter, and Ball and Gent both went close early doors, but Grantham came into the game as the first half wore on and Barcherini came to Carltons rescue twice before the break to ensure the visitors went in level at the break.
Grantham started the 2nd half brightly and Barcherini saved superbly twice again, but as the game opened up Carlton too had their chances, and Whitman in particular failed to capitalise on good openings.
There was some good football, some rusty football with both teams guilty of overhitting the ball, and giving away possession at time, but it was always compelling, and clear towards the end one goal would win it, and it was Carlton who finished stronger.
A good move involving substitutes Norris and Slack, set up Holmes who ghosted in to head in at the far post and give Carlton the points and revenge for the home defeat earlier in the season.
Carlton had the ball in the Mickleover Sports net after three minutes but Whitman's cool finish was disallowed for offside.

Ball thought his header from a Gent cross had crossed the line, but it was not given by the linesman.
The home side took the lead after 35 minutes. Steadman released Graves, who cut into the centre before hitting a low drive past the diving Barcherini.
The second half started with Sports on the attack and Martin Smythe tested Barcherini with a well struck shot from inside the area.
Smythe then cut inside fletcher before putting a low cross into the box which Steadman put over the bar. Minutes later a long cross into the box from full back Joe Carter found the unmarked Smythe at the far post and he gave Barcherini no chance. Sports went further in front when Karl Ashton glanced in a Steadman cross.
A minute later Barcherini could only parry a Strzyzewski free kick into the path of Steadman, who finished with a low drive.
Carlton Town had a battling 4-2 win at Brigg Town.
Dean Gent forced a great save from Andrew Pettinger in the Brigg goal early on.
But Carlton took the lead when a long clearance was flicked on by Chaplin to Whitman and he crashed a low shot past the advancing Pettinger.
Brigg equalised when Holt curled a shot beyond Barcherini.
But Carlton restored their lead, when Danny Hayes smashed his first goal for the club through a crowded area following a corner.
Gent ran onto a clearance by Barcherini, but put his shot wide and Gary Breach saw a shot headed off the line with Pettinger beaten.
When the ball was switched to the other end, Grimes grabbed an equaliser with less than four minutes to play.

Carlton Town once again slipped up at home as they lost 3-0 to Grantham in Division One South.

They took the lead after four minutes, Steve Chaplin heading the ball on to Martin Ball who fed it into the path of Tristan Whitman to finish from a tight angle.
Simmons then went on a run which took him past full back Dan Griffiths. He squared the ball across the face of the goal but there was no one on hand to apply the final touch.
A clearance by Henshaw the fell to full back Jason Francis whose effort from fully 40 yards was well taken by Carlton keeper Ali Barcherini.
But Carlton continued to dominate with Whitman’s runs causing the Drayton defence huge problems.
After 23 minutes, he beat the offside trap and carried the ball 20 yards before delivering it into the box but Danny Blair put his effort wide.
But a second goal soon followed as Simmons cut inside a defender before curling his shot round keeper Spooner in the 25th minute. Ball then got on the end of a cross by Simmons but his header hit the post.
Drayton hit back hard after the break, Blair clearing a header by Woods off the line.
On the hour, Barcherini blocked a shot with his legs from Davies but Carlton were still a threat and from hayes’ free kick, Chaplin’s header just cleared the bar.

Whitman should have sealed the victory for Carlton when he outpaced two defenders but with only the keeper to beat, put his shot wide.
And ihis misery was complete soon after when he was sent off for two bookable offences.
It was a match and a performance Carlton would sooner forget.
Manager Tommy Brookbanks who rarely critisies his players blasted "we didn't put a shift in today,it was an unacceptable performance and just not good enough"."I will be looking for a response, credit to Willenhall who deserved their win but one or two of our players need to take responsbility for their performances,it's no good beating the likes of Sheffield,Leek and Whitton if we then lose this fixture" concluded the angry Carlton Town manager.
A goal on the stroke of half time from Findlay gave Willenhall a deserved lead and Pugh added a 2nd with a magnifecent chip from all of 35 yards after spotting Carlton keeper Barcherini off his line in the 2nd half to condem this damaging defeat.
One plus for Cralton was the performance of youngster James Price at left back, there was little else to please the Carlton Town manager,it was a bad day at the office indeed.
Defensive mistakes cost carlton dear in this FA trophy game and brought carlton's invovlement in this years competition to an abrupt end.
Carlton started the better side and could have been 2 or 3 up in a barnstorming start to the game but found themselves a goal down in the 13th minute when a tricky back pass from Swinscoe was poorly dealt with by Barcherini who played it straight to Ferriby's Bradshaw who smashed it straight back past him to make it 1-0.
The course of the game was changed and Ferriby took control and Bradshaw made it 2 just before the interval after more poor Carlton defending following a corner.
The away side added a 3rd with a fine run and finish from Fry early in the 2nd half.
Carlton had their moments but the game was by now gone and it is North Ferriby that deservedly move into the next round of the competition.
5 years to the weekend that Carlton's former president and chairman Bill Stokeld died, the team put in a 5 star display to defeat Leek 5-2.

Jenkins made it 3-1 to Carlton from the penalty spot in the second half and Trist Whitman then hit a brace before Cope pulled a late goal back for Leek.
It was a fitting tribute to the club's late chairman and his family were among the crowd to witness a display Bill would have been proud of.

Carlton moved into the second qualifying round of the FA Trophy for the first time in their history with a 1-0 win at fellow Unibond Division One South side Rushall Olympic.
Carlton had to survive early pressure from the home side, with goal keeper Ali Barcherini in action from the start, with saves from a Tim Jackson free kick and Shane Benjamin header.
Gary Fitzpatrick came close to opening the scoring for Rushall seeing his header from another Jackson free kick tipped over the bar by Barcherini.
Carlton then had a slice of luck when Niki Preston's header came back off an upright with Barcherini well beaten.
Carlton then hit Rushall on the break, Martin Ball playing in Justin Jenkins who played the ball into the path of Anthony Griffith and his shot was diverted for a corner by Richard Brown.

Carlton Town’s FA Cup adventure came to an abrupt end in this one sided FA Cup replay at Stoke Lane.
Apart from an excellent 15 minute spell after going a goal down when Anthony Griffith hit the bar Carlton were out classed for large parts of this game from an outstanding Nuneaton side.
Justin Marsden, Mark Noon and Simon Forsdick got the goals and only some fine late saves from Ali Barcherini kept the score down.
Carlton were unlucky with the 2nd goal coming after their own good spell when Noon’s shot deflected past Barcherini leaving him standard.
It was not the sort of luck Mick Garton needed against such a good side and with Brindley, Brady and Mitchell all missing, Carlton were always going to be against it and so it proved as Nuneaton eased into the next round in front of a crowd of 254.
Glapwell gained revenge for their FA Cup exit against Carlton Town the previous week with a 3-2 victory.
Glapwell had on loan striker Lee Gregory from Mansfield Town making his debut and took the lead in the sixth minute as Matt Varleys low shot beat the unsighted Ali Barcherini.

Earlier the superb Karl Slack had given Brigg Town the lead after a deflected free kick had decieved Barcherini in the Carlton goal.
An uninspring first half was followed by a thrilling second Anthony Griffith scored a superb overhead kick to pull Carlton level before Carlton missed a hatfull of chances partly down to bad finishing and great goal keeping.
Glapwell had their chances too and Barcherini was equally impresive but had no chance with Barrett's superb winner.
Carlton Town squeezed past Glapwell 1-0 to make it into the next round.
After a hectic start, Carlton started to put their passing togther as Terry Henshaw clamed things down.

The teams looked fairly evenly balanced early on and there was little in the way of clear chances but everything changed in the 17th minute.
Barcherini's clearence rebounded off the on coming Belper forward and bounced awkardly in front of goal as the players tussled to get there first. The referee spotted a push by Carlton's Craig Swinscoe and awarded a penalty,Swinscoe was also shown a straight red card and Oliver made no mistake from the spot.
Rather than go into their shell,Carlton showed courage and fight and had Belper on the back foot for the remainder of the first half.Justin Jenkins was proving a real handfull for the Belper backline and he volleyed what looked like a goal from inside the six yard box but the ball was spectucually blocked.Jenkins was adamant the ball had crossed the line but with no signal from the linesman the referee waved play on.
Minutes later Jenkins hit the underside of the bar and one felt it may not be Carlton's day.Grant Brindley had also missed a good oppurtunity.
In the 2nd half Belper got their tactics spot on and Carlton ran out of steam as Mitchell and Fletcher went off injured and Chaplin and Jenkins up front visibly tired.
Lewis Trimmer was causing problems for Carlton everytime he broke and he set up 2 missed chances before laying on Lee Stevenson who put the game beyond doubt in the final minutes.
Carlton moved up to second in Unibond Division One South after a fine Bank Holiday win over an excellent Sheffield side at Stoke Lane.

Carlton upped the tempo and any neutral observer could see the first goal would probably prove vital. It was Swinscoe who pounced for Carlton after a shot was blocked on the line and Hewitt made it two after a fine sweeping move involving man of the match Steve Chaplin.
It has been an excellent start to the season for the club and they remain unbeaten going into September.
The second half goal glut saw Carlton Town beat New Mills 4-2 to make it through to the next round of the FA Cup.
In the first half,Carlton found it difficult to contain the New Mills strike-force of Tommy Turner and Gary Kharas and it took a tremendous save from keeper Ali Barcherini to keep the scores level, diving full length in the tenth minute.
With the wind at their backs, the visitors continued to press, with Barcherini coming to Carlton's rescue time-and-time again. The pick of those saves came when a wind-assisted,long range punt by Adam Mather seemed to be dipping under the bar until Barcherini managed to somehow tip it over.Carlton's only real chance of the first half fell to Martin Ball who placed his header from a Dan Fletcher cross just wide of the post.Mills had a great opportunity to take the lead just before the break,a long clearance from Fidler fell into the path of Turner but with on Barcherini to beat he drilled his shot wide.
Carlton made two substitutions at half time bringing on,Steve Chaplin and Justin Jenkins for Aidan Brady and Anthony Griffith. This had an immediate impact as Jenkins headed against the bar on 48 minutes.Chaplin then saw an effort bounce off Fidlers leggs in to touch.
Carlton finally broke the deadlock in the 61st minute ,Jenkins shot taking a deflection past Fidler.Three minutes later they struck again as Fletcher's cross was turned in by Chaplin.Mills reduced the arrears in the 67th minute,Khara's first time shot from the edge of the area deceiving Barcherini.A minute later,Carlton restored their two goal advantage,Tris Whitman's run taking him past two defenders before crossing to Chaplin at the far post,he headed back into the path of Danny Blair to net.Mills striker Khara kept his side in the game with his second goal before Chaplin had the ball in the net in the 81st minute, only for it to be ruled offside, but Fletcher put the game beyond doubt with a cross shot in to the corner of the net and Carlton will meet Glapwell away in the next round.

Carlton Town continued their fine start as they brushed aside highly faniced Cammell Laird 3-0.

Carlton started the second half with a flourish. Brady's run took him past three defenders before his cross was turned for a corner by Lynch.
But Carlton were not to be denied as they increased their lead soon after from Swinscoe's well placed header from another Gent corner.
The home side put the game out of reach when Brady once again crossed for the dangerous Whitman to tap home.
A first half goal from new striker Trish Whiman gave the home side a winning start to their Stoke Lane Campaign and was an excellent follow up to Saturday's 1-1 draw at Goole.
Carlton dominated for large parts of the game but at 1-0 Quorn still had very much of a chance and Carlton defence had to be resolute and solid and they were.
"An excellent win,it's always nice to get the first one under your belt" said Manager Tommy Brookbanks "I felt we were always on top but when its only 1-0,you are never safe" concluded the Carlton Town Manager
Carlton Town were made to rue their missed chances as Goole hit back late on to force a 1-1 draw.
Carlton made a dream start to the new season, taking the lead in the first minute. Tristan Whitman's pace took him clear and his cross was diverted into his own net by Niall O'Brien.
Whitman had an opportunity to increase Town's lead when he beat the offside trap but home keeper Craig Parry made a suberb save.
Midway through the half, Aidan Brady and Danny Blair combined to tee up Martin Ball but he shot inches past Parry's right hand upright. Ball then fired a free kick just over the cross bar.

Carlton had a penalty appeal turned down when Whitman seemed to be tripped by Greg Archer.
Goole finally levelled when the Carlton defence failed to clear and O'Brien knocked the ball past Barcherini.
