2-1 WIN OVER REDS YOUNGSTERS, SPONSORSHIP FOR LAWRENCE AND A 1985 HERO IN THE HOUSE!

Carlton Town’s first ever All Ticket Match, brought about by Covid 19 to control the numbers coming into Stoke Lane saw Carlton attract a crowd of 145 against The Nottingham Forest Academy under 18s.

A Tom Maddison penalty and a cute header from Tyler Blake saw Carlton hold a 2 0 first half lead, but an outstanding solo goal from Jemson in the second half pulled a goal back for the Reds but they were unable to force an equaliser and 2-1 was how it finished.

Carlton are grateful to Forest for bringing their youngsters down on what was a foul afternoon weather wise at Stoke Lane.

It was great to see Forest Legends Chris Cohen and Andy Reid in the ground and highly respected Academy Director Gary Brazil.

A Carlton legend, indeed from the Sneinton days and a title winner in 1985 with the club, Steve Straw was also in the house and on good form.

Mark Steggles described Straw as one of the finest players to pull on the shirt, he was named player of the year in that Championship winning season with the award being presented by another Forest legend John Barnwell and he spent 9 years with the club.

Carlton Town Tv have been promised an interview with Straw in the coming weeks, he played in the same team as Steggles and President Roger Smith.

In other news , the player Sponsorships continue to fill up with the Daniel Fletcher sponsorship moving across to Dave Perrin at Times Furnishing and the Supporters club taking on Lawrence Gorman (pictured) and one other player which will be announced ths week.

Commercial Manager Brian Dennett is now looking for Match Ball Sponsors for the new season and Chairman Mick Garton as agreed to cover the first game in the Fa Cup this coming Wednesday against Loughborough University at Stoke Lane.
