200% ABOVE AVERAGE RAIN FALL, COMETH THE GAME, COMETH THE RAIN, MILLERS APPEAL FOR VOLUNTEERS!

For the second home game in a row, club officials have asked for volunteers to come and fork and sand one area of the pitch in the morning to hopefully make sure the game v Ossett can go ahead.

The appeal comes after the BBC announced that the East Midlands had received a 200% increase in the average February rainfall this year, simply mind blowing!

As sure as morning follows night, heavy rain comes every time Carlton have a home fixture and this Friday was no different as the heavens opened yet again.

The club are continuing to work with Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and getting advice and help towards completing their home fixtures to navigate their way through the none stop rain fall.

Groundsman Chris and Club Secretary Wally were at work on the pitch this afternoon and the club are appealing for volunteers to turn up with forks between 9am and 10.30am in the morning.

This website has been told that any pitch inspection would take place at around 10.45am, obviously a lot depends on the overnight weather, but Trent Bridge have told the club, there is highly likely to be overnight rain, all be it not too heavy, so it is very much a case of see what things look like in the morning.

Any help would be greatly appreciated to hopefully get this game on and finally a big Thankyou to Malcolm Brown for coming forward and sponsoring the Match Ball, we hope he and his guests enjoy the afternoon, weather permitting of course!
