A BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY TO REMEMBER FOR ON FIRE MILLERS !

The only negative for the Carlton Town faithful on a sunny Bank Holiday Monday at Stoke Lane was a last minute winner for Belper Town at Loughborough.

Carlton had actually moved into a place off place as they took an outstanding 4-0 lead over Spalding at Stoke Lane, with a brace for man of the match Arron O’Connor, but it was short lived with Belper’s late winner at Loughborough.

What Carlton have done however by winning 4 league games on the bounce is take it to the very last league game of the season with Belper at home to Corby and Carlton away at Stamford.

Carlton have a decent record at Stamford, but The Daniels are also still in the title mix, given the results at the weekend, so a tough game for Carlton is a given. Belper will be expected to beat Corby Town, but who knows, Carlton have triumphed in similar drama before, Tommy Brookbanks will remember Garforth well, but this looks even trickier, given it is based on two results and not one.

One thing is for certain, Tommy and Mark will have The Millers up for it and they have been boosted by the news that Nat Watson pictured with Nottinghamshire’s Director of Cricket Mick Newell, has extended his contract until the end of next season.

This website understands, work is going behind the scenes to keep this season’s momentum going and Nat is very much part of this season’s success and was instrumental in helping The Millers beat Nottingham Forest last week 2-1 with a brace that took Carlton to the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup Final.

Joint Manager Mark Harvey told us “We are delighted to get Nat sorted for next season early. Obviously he’s a fantastic player and generates a lot of interest from other clubs so we prioritised getting him signed up. It’s brilliant for the club myself and Tommy as managers that a player of his ability continues to put his faith in us all”

Carlton are running a coach to Stamford on Saturday leaving the ground at 11.30am and supporters can book a seat at only £10 by telephoning Nigel Harlow on 07904 913764 on a first come, first served basis.
