A BIG THANKYOU TO LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY CRICKET CLUB!

Carlton Town have dispatched a van via their main Sponsors Msr Newsgroup to Leicestershire County Cricket Club who have very kindly donated an old turnstile to The Millers.

An extra turnstile in a different position to the existing ones will enable Carlton to increase their capacity further in the future and is another box ticked in terms of possible future ground grading requirements .

A new double gate will also be put in behind the old dressing rooms complex which will enable more space to be given to a new grass five a side area being prepared adjacent to the 3G pitches.

With the easing of lockdown, volunteers have been busy at Stoke Lane and details of the reopening of the Clubhouse this Saturday are expected to be announced tomorrow.

Chairman Mick Garton told us ” I would like to say a big thankyou to Leicestershire County Cricket Club for gifting us the turnstile which was surplus to requirements for them and in particular to John Rutherford who put us in touch with them and Roger Sturgess at the club for their help with this and to Robin at Msr Newsgroup who picked it up for the club”

“We are getting ready to open the bar again, hopefully for this Saturday, we desperately need to start taking money again and are obviously putting the required measures in place which will enable us to reopen , but even with this there is a cost , I hope to be in a position to make an announcement in the next 24 hours” concluded the Chairman.
