A CHRISTMAS UPDATE FROM STOKE LANE!

Carltons final game before Christmas saw them fall to another home defeat as Tadcaster Albion took revenge for their opening day of the season defeat to the Millers.

Joe Lumsden got the only goal and despite chances at both ends, neither side troubled the score line further.

Carlton remain 16th in Evostick Division One East and travel to AFC Mansfield for the big Boxing Day local Derby with both teams at the wrong end of the table.

Carlton will be delighted with their away form so far this season but their home form has been their big Achilles heel and will be something Manager Wayne Scott will be keen to address in 2019.

Carlton have been handed a tricky away fixture in the Notts Senior Cup against Newark Flowserve and although their opponents are a couple of divisions down the pyramid, they have been in explosive form so far this season winning every league game home and away, 21 in total as we go to press.

The old website revealed Dave Hodgson was close to securing a grant to fit out the Academy Classroom with tables and chairs and we hope to have more news on that in the New Year.

One of the highlights of the year was certainly Sir Cliff and the joy he brought turning on the clubs Christmas light and we thought it would be a fitting picture to show on Christmas Day, we look forward to his return in 2019.

In the meantime , the management, committee and players would like to wish our supporters and sponsors a very merry Christmas and a big thank you for all your support throughout 2019.
