A WEEK TO FORGET FOR INJURY HIT MILLERS BUT YOUNGSTERS IMPRESS AT SPALDING!

As more pictures of the event with Dean Jones in 2009 materialised following his sad death, the club were left to reflect on what has been a tough week.

Many have been in touch with the club to share their memories of that memorable night, with many saying it was the best speakers event they had ever attended.

On the pitch, Carlton have been hammered by an horrendous injury list with 7 players missing of whom at least 5 or 6 would most certainly have started the Spalding clash and the Millers went down 2-0 with a brace from Shane Clarke doing the damage.

The Millers were unlucky to go out of the Fa Cup in the week, putting in a fantastic shift before going down 1-0 late on.

The one positive for the Supporters on Saturday was the performance of youngsters Sam Whitton and Joel Daft after Mark Harvey made a brave triple substitution early in the second half.

Daft in particular was impressive, putting several dangerous balls into the box with little back lift and reminded one or two of Ben Flynn when he was at his best under Les Mcjannet.

Carlton will pick themselves up and go again, these managers know no other way, but they have undoubtedly been dealt a harsh hand so early in the season.

Sutton Coldfield will bring the next challenge this coming Tuesday and it the third away trip for the Millers in a row and hopefully luck will change sometime soon after a bad week and all at Carlton Town include Dean Jones in that seniro, a fine man who died far too early, it puts Carlton’s problems into perspective, RIP Dean , a truly great man !
