ACADEMY GAME OFF, CHASETOWN NEXT TUESDAY AND A BIG THANKYOU TO DANIEL JOHNSON!

The dust has settled following Carlton’s dramatic Penalty shoot out win over Gedling Miners Welfare at Radford Fc on Tuesday night.

Carlton have been joined in the semi Finals of the competition by Newark Flowserve and Notts County, with the game v Teversal and Nottingham Forest still to be played.

Carlton were hoping to get a game in at Stoke Lane this Friday with their Academy scheduled for a fixture with Mickleover and groundsman Jamie Huckerby was fairly optimistic after a dry Wednesday, but another deluge of rain on Thursday morning led to the Millers calling a pitch inspection and the game has sadly fell foul of the weather.

Carlton’s first team will be hoping for better luck next Tuesday as they have now been given a rearranged game v Chasetown at 7.45pm, but with the weather looking increasingly volatile, even that game is already in the balance one would think.

The club are desperately hoping for some rest bite from the ongoing downpours and with cash flow hugely affected by the weather and the fact the club have now had to move three fixtures from Stoke Lane, they were given a boost this week when Johnson and partners took out an advertising banner at the ground through Club President Roger Smith (pictured)

Club Chairman Mick Garton told us ” Roger has asked me to say a big Thankyou to Daniel Johnson at Johnsons and partners Estate Agents in Burton Joyce for their kind support, it is very timely and much appreciated and I look forward to hopefully meeting Daniel at a game in the near future”

“We await dates from the league for our home game v Stamford and our away game v Newcastle Town and of course the Semi Final of the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup and with only 3 midweek slots left, any further postponements will leave us facing a week with 3 games and 2 postponements will leave us facing 2 weeks with 3 games” concluded the Chairman.
