AN AFTERNOON OF REMEMBRANCE AND CELEBRATION FOR THE LIFE OF RON CLARKE

Carlton Town in conjunction with Gary Clarke and his family have announced an afternoon of remembrance and a celebration of the life of Ron Clarke who sadly passed away in hospital last week.

The afternoon will be held in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar at Carlton Town from 2pm on Sunday 7th April and anyone who would like to come and pay their respects is welcome to attend.

People are expected from far and wide to pay their respects and the family have organised food for all those attending along with pictures and some of Ron’s favourite music throughout the afternoon.

Ron was a man of many talents and one of those talents was writing and he wrote a cracking book about the early years of Nottingham Forest featuring the 1911-1912 season.

In Ron’s one last act of fund raising for the club, the books have been donated to Carlton Town and discounted down to just £3 a copy.

They will be sold at the ground and at MSR Newsgroup and if all sold, close on £300 will be raised towards the cost of the coach trip to Merthyr Town on Saturday 6th July, a trip if in good health and if still with us, Ron would very much have liked to have come on.

Ron is pictured at a game with Paul Manuel who wrote a lovely tribute to Ron on this website last week.

Boatsy , Charlie and the family look forward to seeing the Carlton Town Family and their own family and friends at this special event in memory of Ron.
