BROOKBANKS APPEALS FOR SUPPORT ON TWITTER AS CARLTON DRAW NEWARK FLOWSERVE IN CUP SEMI FINAL!
Carlton Town have tonight been drawn at home to Newark Flowserve in the semifinals of the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup after their dramatic penalty win over Gedling Miners Welfare last week who went so close to knocking the Millers out after an excellent performance.
Bingham too, could have seen off the Millers in the previous round after a plucky display, but at the moment Carlton’s priority is very much the league and their battle for the playoffs.
Joint Manager Tommy Brookbanks has taken to twitter tonight to plead with fans to come and support the Millers against Chasetown on Tuesday night, it is a game that Carlton are confident will be on unless there is a major change in the weather which seems to have for the moment settled down.
There is actually more grass on the pitch than there has been for a number of years, but the water level following repeated downpours and drainage issues have meant several postponements in recent weeks.
It has not just been home games that have fallen foul of the weather with away games at Stocksbridge, Newcastle Town and Spalding also being postponed.
Admission to the Bill Stokeld Stadium is £9 Adults, £7 concessions and £3 kids and supporters who are in the Tote competition are asked to bring payments up to date by the club if at all possible please.
Carlton would very much like to once again reach the final of the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup and look forward to the semi Final, whenever that will be in an already crammed fixture programme, but for now Tommy and Mark are focused on the league and hoping Supporters will come out in numbers to get behind the Millers who are in their best league position for 6 years.
