BUSY JANUARY AHEAD FOR PLAYOFF CHASING MILLERS!

Tommy Brookbanks (pictured) has been clear to everyone that will listen, that after last season’s relegation battle, when the Millers stopped up on the last day of the season, that the priority this season first and foremost is to avoid the drop.

After listening to The brilliant Christmas Day interview with Felix, it is clear he thinks the Millers should be challenging right at the top.

The reality is probably somewhere in between with the excellent first half of the season meaning the Millers should stay clear of the drop zone, but there is a general feeling at Stoke Lane that Stockton are getting to take some stopping at the top of the league and are probably the best team in the league at the moment and a number of the other sides from that part of the country are of a high standard to indeed, Carlton are under no illusions that many difficult games are ahead.

The Millers best hope with their young squad is probably to try and stay in and around the playoff zone and see where they are in a few weeks time.

For now, they have to navigate their way through a tricky January and hope the horrendous wet weather Nottingham and many other parts of the country are suffering eases to allow games to go ahead, for now weather permitting, here is how it looks.

Carlton travel to North Ferriby this Saturday 7th January with the coach leaving the ground at 10.30am and Millers Barn at 11am at a cost of £15 return, we understand the coach is very close to being full so anyone interested in going should contact Boatsy urgently on 07907 064189.

Carlton entertain Basford United next Wednesday 10th January and are delighted to report MSR Newsgroup will sponsor this Nottinghamshire County Cup Quarter Final for the Millers.

On Saturday 13th January, Winterton visit Stoke Lane and our friends at Mapperley All Stars are our very special guests for this game and then we entertain table topping Stockton on Tuesday 16th January.

Saturday 20th January has also attracted a match sponsor with B4 Services kindly sponsoring the game, a massive thanks to Mark Benner. Bridlington are the visitors that day and straight after the game, the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar will be showing Brentford v Nottingham Forest live from 5.30pm.

On Tuesday 23rd January, the action moves across to the William Gunn pub on Radcliffe Road West Bridgford who are kindly hosting a quiz night for the Millers, to help the club raise much needed funds at the start of 2024.

Matchball, programme and Mascot sponsorship packages are available for games throughout January, please contact Boatsy on the above number if you can support us please in any way.

Busy days ahead indeed for the Millers hopefully, a plea for the rain gods however, ENOUGH ALREADY!
