CARLTON GET THAT 4-0 FEELING BACK AT STOKE LANE AND TOMMY SPEAKS TO CARLTON TOWN TV
When lock down came down on us all, Carlton fans were left to reflect on a superb campaign with two 4-0 home victories on the bounce bringing Stoke Lane proceedings to a close, giving them all something to take into the summer with massive hopes for the future.
The new season arrived and Carlton had a rocky start losing 3-1 at home to Lincoln United and 2-0 away to Spalding.
The results alone were disappointing, but the biggest worry was the number of injuries Carlton had picked up during and prior to those fixtures.
The positive however came in the form of a brave and excellent decision made by Mark Harvey at Spalding when he threw on two promising youngsters, Tommy and Mark have a Rich history of promoting young talent and both Joel Daft and Sam Whitton that day now look as though they have being playing for The Millers for years given their successful integration into the team.
Both were instrumental as normal service was resumed at Stoke Lane with a 4-0 win against Wisbech Town which followed Saturday’s excellent 3-0 win at Frickley.
Carlton’s season is now up and running with Arron Opoko providing a master class up front and Daryl Thomas turning back the years alongside him.
Goals from the equally impressive Oliver Clark, an Opoku penalty, Daryl himself and Sam Whitton who earlier hit the post with a barnstorming shot meant that 4-0 habit was back.
Whitton got himself a goal and Joel Daft a sponsor as Mark and Joe from Blackburn Starling came forward to support the youngster.
Tommy Brookbanks (pictured) gave an positive and impressive interview to Neil Ward from Carlton Town Tv after the 4-0 win and a the majority of the 122 crowd went home happy.
Carlton are back on the road on Saturday when they visit Newcastle Town.
