CARLTON HEAD INTO CUP FINAL ON SHOCKING RUN OF FORM!

CARLTON HEAD INTO CUP FINAL ON SHOCKING RUN OF FORM!

Carlton Town head into their fifth Senior Cup Final in nine years on their worst run of form over the same period.

Eight defeats in nine games including Saturday’s 6-0 thrashing at Frickley does not bode well going into a match with Nottinghamshires top non league side these days Basford United.

Carlton defeated Basford 4-1 in the 2017 final at Meadow Lane but with the need the mother of all performances to pull off a victory this time round and beat the current holders.

Basford are going well in the top half of the Evostick Northern Premier League and are firm favourites to retain the trophy, with former long serving Carlton manager Tommy Brookbanks in the Director of Football role these days.

The one positive Carlton can take is that some of their best performances this season have been in this competition and have to work hard to get to the final.

The Final is on Tuesday 9th April at Mansfield Town with a 7.45pm kick off and admission to the Stadium is £7 Adults and £3 Children under 16, although Junior players wearing club colours will be admitted for free.

There is a £5 charge for car parking at The One Call Stadium.

Michael Frost will be the Club’s Offial photographer on the night as Lou is away.
