CARLTON STAY TOP BUT MISSED CHANCES COST THEM TWO POINTS!

It was another top draw performance from the Millers as they drew 1-1 with Spalding at Stoke Lane on a pleasantly warm early Autumn evening.

Carlton were left to rue a number of missed chances throughout the 90 minutes and if Carlton had got a second after Tom Maddison had given them the lead with a first half penalty, one believes Carlton would most certainly have run out winners, but while Spalding remained in the game, they were a threat.

It was one of those nights when you almost knew,  that Carlton would be made to pay for failing to kill the game off.

It was Joel Brownhill who got the equaliser with a superb finish off the inside of the post giving Jack Steggles no chance and following the equaliser, Spalding’s confidence grew and they forced a succession of corners.

Carlton had more chances too and it was a thoroughly entertaining 90 minutes and both teams were applauded off at the end by the 106 inside the Bill Stokeld Stadium.

Carlton Town TVs man on the ground Gaz Bee spoke to joint manager Mark Harvey (pictured) at the end and the interview will be put out in the next 24 hours.

Carlton remain top with 6 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat from their opening 9 games, a start they could have only dreamed about, given their position back in April.

Attention turns on Saturday to the Fa Trophy when St Neots Town are the visitors to Stoke Lane and supporters are reminded that their season tickets will not count for this fixture and they will have to pay the admission fee for this particular game of £9 Adults, £7 Concessions and £3 kids.
