CARLTON TOWN AND A BIT OF A STEP INTO THE FUTURE.

July 9, 2023

CARLTON TOWN AND A BIT OF A STEP INTO THE FUTURE.

Carlton Town are delighted to announce a superb new iniative ahead of the 2023/2024 season.

After several months of discussions, planning and preperations, Carlton Town will be one of only a handful of football clubs in the U.K that will accept Bitcoin payments throughout the ground this coming season.

The decision to accept Bitcoin as a method of payment at the bar has come on the back of further discussions with Sponsorship partners and has a view to increase the reach of the club to a different audience and to allow people to pay as they choose when visiting the Bill Stokeld Stadium, encouraging both the use and conversations about Bitcoin.

The Howard Mitchell Sports bar and the turnstiles will be accepting payment from the coming weekend and will mean anyone with Bitcoin will finally have a place to spend their Bitcoin in person in Gedling and Carlton.

Although it may be new to many, the idea is simply to increase the reach of the club and to encourage people to attend the club or website that otherwise would not have done so. Carlton Town will also be supporting the Bitcoin Community by hosting regular Bitcoin events, including meet ups, workshops and classes on how to buy, HODL and spend Bitcoin.

Our first Bitcoin event is scheduled for 7pm on Tuesday 25th July, bought to you by Bitcoin Nottingham and is open to all. There is a very special guest speaker attending, Nottingham’s own Victoria Jones (Truth Decay-How Bitcoin Fixes This) as well as free pizza provided by the event sponsors. Come on down and show your support, learn something new and find out why we’ve decided to adopt Bitcoin.

We are also raising funds for Bitcoinad boards to be placed around the ground. You can

donate your Bitcoin/Sats (bits of Bitcoin) here https://geyser.fund/project/bitcoinadboardsforctfc

The price of entry into the ground or a pint from behind the bar will be exactly the same whether it is paid for with old fashion cash or card as it would be with Bitcoin, with the customer paying through a separate terminal being the only difference the regulars will see.

With relatively few businesses accepting Bitcoin as a payment method, Carlton Town are setting themselves ahead of the rest of the field and showing a clear intent towards planning for the future.

Whether it’s with the cash in your pocket, your chip and pin card or the Bitcoin you’ve invested in, we cannot wait to welcome you this coming season.
