CARLTON TOWN NEWS UPDATE FOLLOWING THE WEEKEND THAT WAS!

It was one of the most full on weekend’s you could ever imagine at Stoke Lane.
On Friday night, David Millns and Mick Newell were the clubs guest speakers on a cracking night of tales and fund raising for the club.

Attention turned to helping the Ukrainian community on Sunday and then the homeless through Emanuel House with Punjabi Forest on bank holiday Monday and of course the Miller Mouse (pictured) was on great form on Monday for all the kids attending.

We will have details of money raised for both causes in the coming days and report that in due course. Our very own Gaz Bee made a Stirling effort for the Ukrainian Community on Sunday collecting £1,500 for a 50/50 draw and we can confirm the winner as Neil Harvey with the draw being made at Ragland Road on Sunday evening. Neil will receive £750 and Ukraine £750, a big well done and thank you to Gaz and everyone who took part.

Carlton hand their pitch back to the ground staff early this year with a view to getting it right for next season, but there are still three major games to look forward to before that day arrives.

One team that won’t be playing on the pitch again this season is the Academy team who won their final home game of the season 5-2 v Mossley with a brace for Tiago Mata and Lasana Suso and a goal for Aston Whitehead.

On Sunday 12th May, Poets Corner will take on Fanzines United in the Empal Cup Final at Stoke Lane 11am before the final Charity match of the season at 3pm featuring teams from Jewson with money being raised for Brindley Animal Rescue and Band of Builders, two excellent causes.

The annual Showmans Guild game is set for Tuesday 14th May 3pm and the club’s presentation night is on Friday 17th May from 7pm with all supporters invited to the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar.

Finally we have some fall out from Sundays brilliant charity day at Stoke Lane with Carlton Town captain on the day Zak Hill who scored a hatrick speaking to Carlton Town Tv and Punjabi Forest Manager Suneil Johal also having a chat with John Bryson.
