CELEBRATING A CRACKING CARLTON TOWN YEAR BOTH ON AND OFF THE PITCH , MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

  1. I The first part of 2021 was pretty much a write off with the country in lockdown and no football being played at non league level.

Carlton sprung back to life in May in cracking style by hosting an outstanding charity match that helped raised crucial money for the club and World Game Changers with a fantastic crowd at Stoke Lane.

Carlton have continued their work in the community throughout the year, in particular with their work with the local Netherfield food bank and received a lovely message yesterday which is displayed below this article.

Carlton have made some fantastic new additions to their team off the pitch with Gary ” Boatsy” Clarke and Jon Bryson joining the backroom staff.

One of the biggest pluses for the club has been the massive increase in attendances with the Club averaging 163 this season to date.

The Miller mouse has made a comeback with the partners of Reece the Bear and Mad Gav prominent in the wonderful costume.

A fantastic record turnout for the Firework Extravaganza further boosted the club and the expansion of the 100 club to 150 club is another massive positive. This is a fantastic initiative, the brainchild of our brilliant supporters!

The money spent on the pitch raised through the 150 club has certainly proved crucial with not a single first team postponement in 2021, long may that continue in 2022.

On the pitch, the team has continued to prosper under the stewardship of Tommy and Mark and sit just outside the playoffs.

The signing of talented forward Nat Watson proved a massive statement of intent in the summer.

If not for injury time equalisers conceded at Halesowen and at home to Ilkeston, things would look even better.

A decent run in the Fa Trophy which resulted in the club getting a full hours coverage on Radio Nottingham and in the quarter final of the senior cup in the new year.

Carlton go into the Festive season having only lost 3 times this season and a coach will leave Stoke Lane on Monday 27th December at 11.30am for their away clash with Spalding, Supporters are invited along at a cost of £10.00 each. Contact Nigel Harlow to book your place. 07904 913764.

Finally the big Christmas Day interview with Boatsy goes live at 11am , enjoy ! The link is below !

A very merry Christmas to everyone from all at the club and spare a moment today to remember a wonderful man we have sadly lost Brian Dennett!
