CHRISTMAS DRAW UPDATE FROM DAVE HODGSON!

Carlton Town’s Strategic Development Officer Dave Hodgson has played a massive part at the club in recent months, helping bringing in grants to ensure the survival of the club during Lockdown.

Today he has contacted Chairman Mick Garton to give his thoughts on the immediate future and the all important Christmas draw and gave this website the following statement.

“In light of the recent events and I refer to problems with the App, the move into tier 3 which brought the season to another suspension, the announcements by the government which indicate the virus is now spreading rapidly again and the fact we can’t have supporters at the Clubhouse to support the Christmas Draw event, I suggested today to Mick that the draw be put back until next week”

“The draw is massively important for the club, given we have to find ground rent for the Stadium on the 1st January, I understand this is always paid after a successful Christmas Luncheon and a full on Christmas draw which usually involves partners and the Junior section”

“This year we have had no Xmas Luncheon and have not been able to hold our traditional Christmas draw in the usual way, we have moved over to an online model but as you are well aware, we have had some major problems with the Msr App and we understand many supporters would sooner go through the App to purchase their tickets”

“Following talks with the Supporters club this afternoon, we are putting the draw back till next week and I understand the Chairman will announce a new date shortly”

“When the Rates were going down and the Vacine was announced, we were hopeful of staging fund raisers fairly early in the New Year, but following Saturday’s announcement by Boris Johnson, it seems the goal posts have moved again and we are probably looking at either April or May before we can do anything on a fund raising basis”

Finally I would ask everyone involved with the club and those that support the club to get behind the Xmas draw, if u can’t buy tickets through the settings on the Msr App , please download this special link provided by the server which should allow you to buy tickets which are £10 each and 3 for £20 and I do understand by delaying the draw by a week, Mick will be able to secure some extra prizes, which is obviously great news.

“The link which will lead you to the Christmas tickets and allow everyone to purchase on line”

“I know everyone associated with our great club just wants a return to some normality and to be back with our friends watching our beloved Millers and I can assure you, we will keep you updated on footballing matters as things develop over the coming months”
