CLUB AND COUNCILLORS DELIGHTED WITH FOOD BANK EFFORT, £200 FOR SATURDAY APPEAL AND A HOME DRAW IN THE TROPHY!

For the first time this season, Carlton concentrated efforts on raising money for the club to meet their own commitments during the Firework Extravaganza/ Fa Trophy weekend double header, but despite that they still once again did their bit for the local community by holding a hugely successful food bank over Friday and Saturday and Chetnet have reported they received £207.70 on Saturday towards their appeal supporting the Prostate Cancer UK Charity and raising funds for defibrillators for grass root clubs, that money being donated by those attending Saturday’s game against Kidsgrove.

Councillors Nicki Brooks and Paul Wilkinson attended the ground on both days and both expressed their sincere thanks to the club for their help with the local food bank, which is providing vital help to the needy in the local community. The club are committed to continuing this work and will hold a special Christmas foodbank over the weekend taking in Carlton’s final home game before Christmas on Saturday 18th December v Shepshed and the Big Christmas draw on Tuesday 21st December.

There was also the small matter of a cup draw today as Carlton celebrated over the weekend after reaching the first round proper of the Fa Trophy for the first time in their 117 year history.

Stourbridge will be the visitors to Stoke Lane on Saturday 13th November for one of the biggest games in the club’s history as the club attempts to reach the second round proper and make even more history.

The club are under no illusions however that it will be a tough game against established premier league step 3 opposition, but the buzz is already going around Stoke Lane and Match sponsors had already been secured by Mark Steggles before Boatsy even got on the case, so a big thankyou to Redrow Homes for their forthcoming support.

Boatsy will be on the case in the coming days in the hope of securing Matchball, Programme and Mascot sponsorship for this exciting fixture. He can be contacted on 07907 064189.

Nat Watson picked up the Matchball Sponsors man of the match award after Saturdays penalty shootout win and is photographed with DJ Sanj Beti receiving his award..
