CLUB COMFIRMS THAT CLUBHOUSE AND PITCHES WILL HAVE TO CLOSE!

Carlton Town are disappointed to report this evening that they will have to close their complex to all but their Education Programme from tonight Wednesday, following clarification from the government due to the ongoing Covid 19 crisis.

It had been hoped that outdoor Children’s excercise including the youngsters football training at least would still be allowed after a high profile and heavily supported campaign by Robbie Savage.

The government however has comfirmed all football at Venus such as Carlton Town, apart from Academy training is banned for 4 weeks, the Academy are not allowed to play games however.

The club which had already been forced to cancel it’s Fireworks Extravaganza and Christmas events will now lose it’s Bar income and income from it’s pretty much fully booked 3G pitches.

The first team whom had just seen key players return to the team after weeks of injury problems secured an excellent 2-0 away win at Sheffield Fc on Saturday, but will now have no game until December with Saturday 5th December scheduled at the moment to be their next fixture at home to Cleethorpes.

Boris Johnson was adamant in the commons today that the lockdown would not go beyond December 2nd, despite minister Michael Gove saying on Sunday it could last longer.

The club obviously hopes that is the case with some of our sponsors going through horrendous financial meltdown due to the ongoing restrictions and forthcoming lockdown.

We pray and hope that they can come through these awful times and we ask our supporters to stay safe, thank them for their fantastic loyalty and look forward to seeing them on December 5th, unless of course it all changes yet again ?
