CLUBHOUSE PACKED TO THE RAFTERS FOR PAUL HART!

The Christmas Luncheon is a very special event in the Carlton Town calendar and always busy, but for former Nottingham Forest player and Manager and indeed friend of the club Paul Hart, it was bursting at the seams.

It was in October 2001, when Paul Hart brought his then Nottingham Forest side down to Stoke Lane for the turning on of the club’s floodlights, a game featured live on 96 Trent Fm with the legendary Jo and Twiggy.

He and Tommy Brookbanks featured on the programme cover and both signed the one remaining copy from the day to kick proceedings off.

The club raised over £2,000 on prizes donated in the main by Chairman Mick Garton with further help from Castle Rock, Boatsy once again and Dave Pullen.

Paul Hart was interviewed by another huge friend of the club, Academy sponsor Paul Lowe and gave a fascinating insight into his career and life and threw in a couple of Cloughie stories for good measure.

Lowe was on good form himself and the change of format allowed Garton to focus on the fundraising.

There was total respect in the house for a local Legend of the game and the packed Clubhouse was totally silent as Paul reeled off his stories.

He then stayed behind for a good hour for photographs and chatted with supporters and club officials and the club is grateful to a fine man.

The ever popular Gaz Bee was put on the spot with an impromptu interview with Tommy Brookbanks which went down well and the pleasing thing too, were that the winners of the various prizes were spread around the room.

The Club would like to thank everyone who came for their fantastic support, for what was another Barnstorming afternoon and in particular Castle Rock and Paul Lowe and of course their very special guest Mr Paul Hart.

Merry Christmas one and all !
