DID CARLTON GO DOWN HEAVILY TO THE CHAMPIONS ELECT?

Carlton Town suffered only their second league defeat of the season, all be it a heavy one against the best side they have played this season!

Tim Grice (pictured) has a great goal scoring record against Carlton, then again, he has a great scoring record against most sides and he once again stepped up to the plate to punish the Millers , who were off the pace and went down 4-0 at Stoke Lane in front of 111.

Carlton will point to the fact they have not played for three weeks and they definitely looked undercooked against an excellent Leek side.

Arron Opoku was unavailable which was certainly another negative for the Millers, but the reality is Carlton are not at the top end of the table by accident and the plan will be to regroup and come again.

It will certainly not be easy as next week’s fixture is away at high flying Belper Town, but the mood in the camp remains positive, with Carlton well above where most at the club could have ever have dreamed  about being after last seasons relegation reprieve.

A big Thankyou to Councillor Paul Wilkinson for sponsoring the match ball and to Gaz Bee for stepping up to the plate and speaking to Joint Manager Tommy Brookbanks after the heavy defeat, the interview wil follow on Carlton Town Tv.

The big thing that came out of the game for many was how good Leek were and it would be no surprise if they are the club that this season claims the Championship!
