DISAPPOINTMENT ON SATURDAY FOR THE MILLERS BUT BIG NORM A HIT ON FRIDAY AT STOKE LANE

Carlton Town went down to a narrow 2-1 defeat to Consett on Saturday and face another long trip to the North East next Saturday when they meet Dunston who are one place above them now in the league. The Millers are 8th in Northern Premier League East after the defeat with Zach Hill scoring the Millers goal late on.

Carlton had their moments in the game and could well have gone into the lead themselves, but it was Consett who were ruthless and secured the points, look out for Alan Murphy’s report on the fans website.

The club’s ever popular Christmas Luncheon produced another full house and speaker, former outstanding Nottingham Forest keeper Mark Crossley was on top form in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar and received a standing ovation after his brilliantly delivered after dinner speech.

The event as always helped the club raise vital funds towards their 2023-2024 budget and put a smile on lots of faces, a big Thankyou to Sponsors of the event Castle Rock and to MSR Newsgroup for providing some cracking prizes for the fund raising, one which was won by long time supporter Pete Smith pictured and the Trust me prize valued at around £500 secured by deputy Commercial Manager Gaz Bee in conjunction with the kind landlord of the Greyfriars Club after the two organisations teamed up again this year in support of Ukraine.

Carlton Town Tv and sponsors Aerocom were both at the event and Aerocom were thanked for stepping up to the plate and supporting the Millers this season. Our Media Correspondent Josh Hodgson caught up with “Big Norm” pitchside and talked Non League, Norm’s Charity and more before he stepped on to the Millers stage on Friday afternoon and the excellent interview is below.
