DOUBLE BOOST FOR ACADEMY BOYS AND THEN A 3-2 WIN!
Carlton Town’ s Academy team received a double boost on Wednesday, when first of all “Speaking from our hearts” Chief Paul Lowe Who is the Academy’s main sponsor arrived in the country and made one of his first points of call, a trip down to the Carlton Town Academy to meet Alex and the boys.
Paul, a close friend of Chairman Mick Garton has spent a large part of his life raising money for good causes and is particularly committed to youth projects and see’s the Carlton Town Academy side as a perfect team to get behind given his background and belief’s.
Chairman Mick Garton and Manager Alex Trukan agreed this seasons Sponsorship deal at the back end of last season and Lowe was delighted with the new look shirt complete with the “Speaking from our hearts” logo, after Secretary Trevor Wells sent him the image last week, he was also delighted to finally meet and speak to the players and emphasised to the manager and his squad, his organisation’s commitment to the Academy.
Lowe met with the Chairman for breakfast today and is also committed to supporting the Christmas Luncheon and will be working alongside Garton on the day to hopefully make the occasion, another successful one for the Millers.
After meeting the charismatic Lowe, the Academy squad travelled to Belper and another full on Characteristic figure was there to watch them play for the first time, Mr Tommy Brookbanks.
Brookbanks left Mark Harvey and Paul Rockley to take training, while he made the trip to Belper and was not disappointed with what he saw, as the Academy ran out 3-2 winners after being a goal down at the interval.
A good day all round then for the Academy, having now won 2 and lost one of their opening 3 games.
