EMOTIONAL NIGHT AHEAD FOR BROOKBANKS AND BALL !

Carlton Town will play their first home friendly of their new management’s regime on Tuesday 9th July when a Notts County team visits Stoke Lane 7.45pm.
Notts are back in the high court on the following day and pretty much everyone associated with Nottinghamshire football will be hoping for a positive outcome and that this is not Notts County’s final ever game as some have speculated.
From a Carlton perspective, it will be an emotional night with Tommy Brookbanks returning to the dugout at Stoke Lane 9 years after leaving for Hucknall Town and former Club Captain Martin Ball also returning to the club he loves.
Admission is £7 Adults, £5 concessions and £2 kids and the club would like to place on record their thanks to Paul Judge from “AIR IT” who are sponsoring the game.
Brookbanks himself is a Notts County fan and is praying Notts can survive and prosper and is grateful the club are bringing a side down for his homecoming.
Carlton have spent the money raised from the recent event at the Dragon on the pitch and the club also have new goals installed, again the consequence of good old fashioned fund raising, with the club unable to secure any significant funding to assist them currently.
Apart from struggling to secure funding, Carlton will keep trying and after five seasons on the bounce finishing in the lower reaches of the table, the Millers are hoping that better times are ahead.
“The visit of a Notts County team will hopefully help a little bit and we are grateful to them for coming down despite all their problems, one hopes both clubs have bright futures and that the Magpies will get taken over by people committed to taking the club forward” said Chairman Mick Garton when he spoke to us earlier.
It promises to be an interesting few days, starting with the home coming of Tommy Brookbanks and Martin Ball and oh yes, Daniel Fletcher, Danny Elliot and Callum Keane are also back and not to forget Mark Harvey and Paul Rockley who will also be in the Carlton Town dugout for the first time ever, we wish them every success!
