Carlton Town shared the spoils in their first away encounter of 2020, but were unlucky not to claim all three points after an excellent away performance at Sutton Coldfield Town.
Carlton missed a number of excellent chances to take the lead in a first half they dominated with some outstanding approach play.
Carlton then suffered the sucker punch at the start of the second half when Isai Marselia gave Sutton the lead with a superb strike.
Carlton were not too rattled however and continued to play top quality football although the equaliser came from a set play, with the excellent Oliver Clark (pictured) heading home from a corner.
Carlton continued to press with Davie and Opoku causing all sorts of problems and Bako who came in for the poorly Tom Maddison, was starting to get more into the game and influence proceedings.
A special mention to for Martin Ball who continues to turn back the years and was superb at the heart of Carlton’s defence.
Opoko hit the post late on for Carlton and Sutton also saw a shot hit the top of the crossbar as both teams pressed for the winner.
Carlton are in a playoff position after the result and also found out they will be playing Bingham Town away in the fourth round of the Notts Senior Cup , fixture details will follow!
A point away at Sutton Coldfield is always a good one, but the feeling among supporters was that it should really have been three!
