FAMILY FUND RAISING GAME ANNOUNCED IN MEMORY OF ADAM THOMAS
The very final game on the Carlton Town pitch this season will take place on Sunday 18th May in memory of Adam Thomas who sadly passed away at Christmas.
Adam was a big Leeds United supporter, but when he was not at Leeds, he often made his way down to Stoke Lane to support the Millers.
Adam son of Collette who many Millers fans will know really well and married to Liz with 3 sons Theo, Louis and Brody died at just 36 years of age on the 22nd of December of incurable liver cancer, after falling ill in the summer and being diagnosed in September.
The day will start with a Junior game at 11.30am, followed by a match between Gedling Southbank and Adams friends at 1pm.
The details are still being finalised, but it is understood that everyone playing will pay £20 into the fund raising kitty being raised for Adams 3 boys who have been left without their father.
There will be no fixed charge as such on the gate for those attending, but everyone coming in to support the day can donate to the collection buckets which volunteers will be manning on the gate, so people can pay as little or as much as they can afford to give.
There will also be a raffle, a Dj, a penalty shootout competition and Popular local singer Stuart O Hanlon will be doing an acoustic set at around 4 15pm after the raffle draw.
Other ideas are also being worked for what will be an emotional but special day, in memory of Adam who died far to young.
If anyone reading this in any way can help in any way towards the day, the raffle or whatever, please contact Boatsy on 07907 064189.
Boatsy is one of a number of people at the club who are throwing their efforts into this special event, which hopefully will not only raise some money to help support his boys, but be a celebration of a very special person who was loved by so many.
