FANTASTIC AFTERNOON OUT FOR MILLERS FANS REWARDED WITH ANOTHER EXCELLENT AWAY WIN!
The Carlton Town massive were out in force, the club may have the lowest attendances in Division One South East, but our fans were out in numbers for the away trip to Dromfield with approximately 50 attending the away clash with Sheffield Fc.
They were in good voice and many were saying Chappo was back in the crowd, but we are not quite sure it was him, passionate man though he was !
The Chairman Mick Garton and Commitee men Mark Steggles and Dave Hodgson joined supporters on the train after breakfast at the Vat and Fiddle and a few more supporters joined them after breakfast at The Willowbrook.
The atmosphere among the group including a number attending their first Carlton game was electrifying indeed and the players on the pitch did not let them down with an outstanding performance throughout.
It was another fantastic away win and was up there with the wins at Ilkeston and Stamford to name but two from Carlton’s excellent away record this season.
Our new reporter Eamon Dumphy was on hand to catch up with goalkeeping Coach Carl Steggles and Joint Manager Mark Harvey after the 3-0 win and their interviews are now on Carlton Town Tv.
Carlton Town regrettably had to call off this afternoons Charity match between NCT and Framework after the heavens opened again at Stoke Lane, but the Millers Chairman has promised the charity they can restage the game at the end of the season.
The players were also offered use of the 3G pitch for the afternoon, but after the rain increased in intensity, some retreated to the bar and others made their way home.
“We take our community responsibility very seriously and will certainly invite the guys back when the weather improves” said the Chairman, who was actually there to support the event along with Vice Chairman Barry North, who he was also meeting with to discuss vital issues regarding the club and it’s future”
An announcement following that meeting will be made to this website in the coming days, but for now the Millers look forward to welcoming Bingham Town to Stoke Lane this coming Wednesday, weather permitting of course !
This is technically a Carlton Town away game, so we will not be producing a match programme for this game and admission prices have been reduced to £5 Adults, £3 concessions and £1 kids.
