FANTASTIC RESPONSE TO NEWS OF BIG BOOK LAUNCH AT CARLTON TOWN !

Carlton Town have had some great crowds, some fantastic guests and some brilliant events at the Bill Stokeld Stadium over the last few years and they are soon to stage another that is clearly capturing people’s imagination.

The Gary ‘Boatsy’ Clarke and Paul Lowe book launch ” Angels with Dirty Faces” at the ground on Sunday 19th February is getting excellent feedback and a decent turnout is expected for what promises to be a cracking Sunday afternoon.

Carlton have been looking at different ways of raising money this season, due in particular to the extra travel costs they have had to find running into thousands of pounds.

Proceeds from book sales on the day will go to the Millers and the club are putting on food and Carlton Town Supporters Club member Dan Thorpe will be on the Dj decks playing some top vinyl throughout the afternoon.

We spoke to Boatsy after Saturday’s Carlton game and he told us “We have people coming from far and wide and I’m delighted to say Nottingham Forest legend Ian Storey Moore and Nottinghamshire County Cricket star Luke Fletcher have both comfirmed they will be in attendance at some point during the afternoon, everyone is welcome, we will have a cracking afternoon ” said Boatsy.

The club will also put on a raffle and Millers supporter John Gorman has already secured a T20 Trent Bridge family pass for a game in 2023 and we understand some other decent prizes have been promised by local businesses keen to support the book launch for two guys both with fascinating backgrounds, both committed to helping the Millers.

Millers Chairman Mick Garton also told us “We will make the two 3G five a side pitches available throughout the afternoon to the children coming down with parents to support the event and we will also be showing Super Sunday on Sky Sports on the club’s screens during the event which will run from 2pm to 6pm in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar, we will also open up the Brian Dennett suite if need be, the response to this event has been brilliant so far to what is an incredible story about two guys who have challenging backgrounds, but have gone on to turn their lives around and do some much good for so many and I am personally among the lots of people looking forward to this book” concluded the Millers Chairman.
