“FINE MARGINS INDEED” CHAIRMAN REACTS TO CUP DEFEAT!

Carlton Town went out off the Fa Trophy, despite a spirited second half performance that saw fine saves from Stewart in the Matlock goal, Oliver Clark hit the crossbar, a goal line clearance and Aaron Opoku missing a glorious late chance after doing all the hard work.

Chairman Mick Garton was disappointed but praised the second half performance “Matlock played well in the first half, but possibly we showed them too much respect, but in the second half after Tommy and Mark had worked their magic, we came out a totally different side and played like we have been doing all season”

” I would go as far to say that if Aaron had put away that late chance, we might even of won it in the six minutes of injury time, they were launching it anywhere!”

“It shows how far we have come in the fact I am disappointed we have lost to Matlock, a team in the top half of the Bet Victor premier league, a game we have ended up losing by the finest of margins”

“I said to the supporters at half time that the next goal would be pivotal and I also said, Tommy and Mark would have been glad for half time and I was not surprised with the way we responded, but congratulations to Matlock and a big thankyou to the 142 who came to the game on a very cold evening”

“At least we have had a little run in the competition, but it would have been nice to have least got the replay, given our outstanding away form” concluded the Millers Chairman.

Millers Tv were at the game and spoke to joint manager Mark Harvey after the final whistle, watch out for the interview via out twitter feed.
