FULL NEWS MIDWEEK UPDATE FROM STOKE LANE !

Carlton Town will be pleased to have picked up their first point of the season at Sutton Coldfield this week and indeed could easily have won the game.

The positive news was the return of Arron Apoku, but Martin Ball was missing and impressive youngster Joel Daft went off injured in the first half after once again impressing the Carlton Town faithful with his touch and quick feet.

He should have earned his team a penalty after a blatant trip in the box in the first half, but the referee thought differently.

In fairness, Sutton Coldfield will argue they had a good shout to, but it was in the second half when Carlton really stepped up their game with Niall Davey (pictured) particularly impressive.

Chances went begging however and given the current injury crisis , the Millers will be happy to get a point on the board.

In other news, First team coach Paul Rockley is stepping back from the club for a period as his parter prepares to give birth, Paul has recently been working hard on trying to get young talented players at the club to find a pathway towards the first team and he will be missed by Mark and Tommy and welcomed back as soon as he feels ready.

Paul will write his final article for the programme for the time being for next Tuesday’s home fixture against against Wisbech and a big thankyou to Eden Hurst Care Home who have agreed to sponsor the Matchball for that game, their support is very much appreciated.

With Carlton away again on Saturday, if anyone fancies taking in a home game, our under 18s are playing at Stoke Lane on Friday night as Sarah Tongue reports.

“As part of the continuing process of strengthening the bonds between the Juniors, the Academy and the Seniors, On Friday 02nd October 7.30pm We will be hosting our U18s Game V  Radcliff. The Fixture is always a close hard fought game and has the makings to be a very entertaining Fixture. Both teams looking to get a good start To the season . Radcliffe will come with a  strong squad and as normal will show a lot of determination”

“It would great to as many of our regular supporters cheering on the lads, especially as there will be some familiar faces on show”

“THE BAR WILL BE OPEN AND ADMISSION IS FREE OF CHARGE”

Finally the club would like to thank Nick Hawkins and Mick Jordan who donated their recent 100 club winnings back to the club, a fantastic gesture from two great people.
