GOOD NEWS FOR CARLTON TOWN TV AND BOOST FOR THE PLAYING SQUAD !

Carlton Town Chairman Mick Garton is delighted to announce two new initiatives off the field as The Millers gear up for the new season

Firstly a new sponsor is on board. City Couriers Direct who are based in Chesterfield will become the official partner of Carlton Town TV.

The new partnership will see the business sponsor all output from the club via the TV channel to include interviews, match highlights, analysis and news. This will be across the club from the juniors, academy, reserves and first team. The sponsorship will include investment in equipment to assist our visual output.

We would also like to take this opportunity to announce that Darryl Claypole has been appointed as the clubs new Director of Football. Tommy Brookbanks strongly believes that the official announcement will give a boost to the playing squad, particularly given his track record in helping the development of young players.

Darryl is no stranger to the club having worked with Tommy and Mark over many years at Carlton Town and other clubs and has developed a number of players who have made a career for themselves in professional football.

Darryl’s remit will be to oversee the footballing side of the whole club, strengthening the ties between the juniors and senior sides and developing the pathway for players to progress. He will also be assisting the first team management where necessary

Mick said “ we are very please to welcome City Sporting Group and City Couriers Direct to the club and we look forward to a successful partnership”

” On a personal level, it would be great to see more youngsters that have played for the Junior section make their way into the first team set up and Part of Daryl’s focus will be on that, he had already been at the club helping Tommy and Mark last season and I know they wanted to put his role on an official footing in their set up and today we have officially done that”

”City Couriers Direct’s role in Carlton Town Tv ,will also hopefully help extend its coverage across the age groups , something Darryl wants to be at the heart of and that is another huge positive for the club”

Tommy commented “ I am delighted to welcome Darryl back in an official capacity and having worked with him for many years I know his presence will have a positive effect on everyone at the club.

It’s been bubbling over for a while now and we feel it’s perfect timing to take the club onto the next level.

I have personally known Darryl for some 25 years now and we worked very closely together In my first 14 years together at Carlton and along with the chairman Mick Garton Darryl was instrumental in setting up our academy and youth development program which brought through the likes of Martin Ball Dean Gent Grant Brindley etc who all went on to have hugely successful careers.

Darryl has also worked very closely with myself and Mark since our return to Carlton and has brought to the table many ideas and initiatives which we will be using going forward.

The tv side of things will help us hugely ongoing with the video analysis etc and he will play a huge part in the highly successful junior section we have at our club which we cherish and are hugely proud of.

We have a magnificent group of volunteers supporters committee etc at our club and I know they will all welcome Darryl with open arms and these are exciting times for our club.”
