GRASSROOTS BAN THE LATEST BLOW FOR CARLTON!

Carlton Town have today now lost all virtually all their 3G bookings with letters coming out from the Fa stopping all grassroots football and training this website understands.

Chairman Mick Garton told us last night the club had lost some bookings, but further cancellations today of block bookings which were set to last till the summer has left the club with practically no income to pay bills including ground rent , Water rates and insurance which are all due shortly along with the wages of Jamie who runs the complex and has to maintain the pitch, not to mention the repairs from the storm that the club were not covered for and the excess with invoices not yet paid for any repairs.

Carlton have already had to cancel their John O Hare evening, lost their race Day and gate income with bumper gates against Ilkeston, Newark Flowserve, Belper Town, Cleethorpes and Stamford all set to fall by the wayside unless the seasons resumes which looks increasingly unlikely at the moment.

While the club have stated that health is obviously the number one priority, the very existence of the club is also high up that ladder, given its pivotal role in the local community and following this latest development, there is a general feeling that unless the pubs are closed, the club will NOT cancel the Dragon event on Sunday 29th March given the current situation and it may be the last chance to bring any income in to support the club for sometime.

A coach taking possibly his last session at the ground for sometime spoke to us earlier and said he thought the outdoor environment was possibly the best place for kids to be at the moment and he was unaware of any kids in Nottingham catching the virus, but had to respect the FA decision even if he disagreed with it.

Whats right and what’s wrong in this ever bleak picture is something dividing opinion across the country, but for the moment, Kids football looks to be closed down to for the foreseeable future.
