GREAT TURNOUT FOR UKRAINE CHARITY EVENT AT STOKE LANE!

Carlton Town Chairman Mick Garton was among those supporting the Ukraine Charities event at Stoke Lane on Sunday afternoon and admitted he was made up to see the excellent turn out at the Bill Stokeld Stadium.

“I had a quick glance on the online CCTV at around 1pm before I left the house to go to the event and was delighted to see the ground packed, my understanding is that there were over 300 inside the Stadium and the weather held which is so important at these event”

Garton was Joint by Committee members, Mark Steggles, Gaz Bee, Greg Last, Lou Lardi and Tim Bee who was the Senior Match official and all of them contributed in various ways to the vital fund raising.

For the record, Greyfriars won the game against Trident 4-3 and it was great to see Nottingham Forest Legend Andy Reid back at Stoke Lane managing the Greyfriars side and massive credit to Nottinghamshire Mp Nadia Whittome who spoke for pretty much everyone in condemning what Russia are doing to the Ukraine nation, evil indeed and Nadia spoke well.

There were stalls, half time entertainment and a raffle to bring proceedings at Stoke Lane to a close , before the event moved on for it’s second half at the Greyfriars.

Massive praise must go to Taz who organised the afternoon and a big thankyou to everyone who donated their own time and prizes are we will report in due course on what was raised.
