GUARD OF HONOUR DETAILS FOR BRIAN REVEALED AS FUND HITS £470!

The family of Brian Dennett are overwhelmed that the final Carlton Town fundraiser in his name as already hit the £470 mark, leaving it just £30 short of the £500m target with a week to go before the funeral. The family have asked people donate to the fund for the club rather than send flowers.

The family are now hopeful the target will be reached soon and it will be a bonus indeed if it passed. Brian’s sister Lynn told us today, “With another week to go, that’s a tremendous effort, Brian would be so proud”

“Our family carer, June Taylor has been stopped on a number of occasions by people with good words to say about Brian, particularly local Match officials who he looked after from the moment they entered the Bill Stokeld Stadium” Lynn said.

The family have organised for the Hearse to call into the ground at shortly after 12pm with the funeral taking place at St Pauls in Carlton at 12.30pm on Tuesday 23rd March.

Due to Covid 19, only a handful of club representatives will be able to attend, but supporters and friends of Brian can form a guard of honour in the club’s car park from 12pm for the Millers legend.

Jamie Huckerby will be on hand to organise on the day and ensure social distancing is adhered to as per government guidelines.

The funeral will be streamed live and the link for that and for the just giving page are on the original article placed on this website a few days ago.

Meanwhile Josh Hodgson and Neil Ward have been urging people to send in their memories of Brian in recorded video messages for Carlton Town Tv.

These will need to be in by this Thursday 18th March , contact Josh on 07444 020641 if you would like to get involved, any contributions are much appreciated!
