HARVEY DELIGHTED AS 10 MAN MILLERS START WITH A WIN!

HARVEY DELIGHTED AS 10 MAN MILLERS START WITH A WIN!

Carlton Town put their Fa Cup disappointment behind them, to put in a fine display in their first league game of the season at Lincoln United.

What made the win even more satisfying, was that Carlton spent two thirds of the game down to ten men after Danny Elliot had extremely harshly been shown a red card in the opinion of the Carlton Town fans website.

The returning Arron Opoku had already given Carlton the lead, but despite being down to 10 men for around 60 minutes, Carlton still spent a good percentage of the game on the front foot.

Kyle Stovell dropped back into the vacuum left after Elliot’s dismissal and along with all his teammates, put in a fantastic shift to see the Millers home with Oliver Clark even adding a second goal.

A proud joint manager  Mark Harvey wrote on Twitter “After a year out of the game, to be back in the dugout, win after 60 minutes down to ten men and witness the effort and commitment from the lads, Priceless!”

A proud manager indeed and Carlton up and running with 3 points and anticipation now grows for the new look teams first home game this coming Wednesday, when Sutton Coldfield Town visit Stoke Lane 7.45pm.
