HIGNETT PROVES TO BE A GREAT STAND IN FOR “BIG NORM”

The event took on extra fund raising significance this year given the Millers extreme travelling expenses this season and auction and Superdraw sponsors Msr Newsgroup donated extra prizes to help raise money to cover the players for losing work hours due to the forthcoming Tuesday night fixture in the North East.

A packed out Howard Mitchell Sportsbar is a site to behold and the late change of speaker due to Mark Crossley’s World Cup commitments did not dampen the spirits.

Craig Hignett proved a fantastic substitute and went down a storm at this now legendary event.

Vital funds were raised, the food was as good as ever, Greg won a big prize again and Tommy came up and thanked everybody and at the end, a man was walking round with a lamp shade on his head!

A great afternoon was had by all , Thankyou to Castle Rock for their Sponsorship once again and Craig Hignett for some wonderful stories , it was just a shame that the couple of dozen who stayed behind for the England game didn’t get the same entertainment from that!
