IMPORTANT TO SUPPORT CASTLE ROCK AT THIS CRUCIAL TIME , CHAIRMAN!

Carlton Town Chairman Mick Garton is asking supporters to follow up their outstanding support for the Supporters Club Foodbank announced at short notice on Saturday with fantastic results by also getting behind long term club sponsors Castle Rock who announced this week they are on the brink of breakdown due to the pandemic and government restrictions.

Managing Director Colin Wilde told the Nottingham Post that the money initially received from government support had come and gone and they were now at the crossroads.

The 10pm curfew along with the ban on indoor entertainment and now only people living together able to go into pubs together is having a devastating effect on the business, so much so it was even raised by local Mp Liilian Greenwood in the House of Commons.

Carlton Chairman Mick Garton told us “We have had incredible support from Castle Rock over the last few years sponsoring numerous events at the ground and taking tables, Sponsoring Match Balls and generally supporting this football club”

“We now need to be there for them, I understand they will get through Christmas following extra help announced by the Chancellor Rishi Sunak but after then is anybody’s guess, I have already seen three substantial companies I dealt with over many years go under due to Covid 19 and we must do everything we can to help prevent Castle Rock becoming another casualty of this disease and government restrictions”

“I will make a point myself of taking my family out to a Castle Rock pub in the next couple of days and beyond and I would urge anyone who can to do the same to please do so, I have also agreed a deal with them that anyone buying 5 Cases of Real Ale in the shape of Harvest Pale, Elsie Mo and Screech Owl will get a case free, this offer is available via the Msr App or by ordering through Msr Stores at Angel Row on 0115 9598446 or Msr Arnold on 0115 9208791, payment can be made by Credit Card over the phone or by bank transfer and is available until the 31st October and I would like to thank Greg Last and Dave Perrin who have already taken advantage of this fantastic offer and I will talk to Colin and his team regarding Christmas gift packs and anything else we can do to help this brilliant local company ”

The food bank offer was a superb idea and I’m sure we will extend that to the next home game, but please give any support you can to the wonderful people at Castle Rock by supporting their pubs, or ordering their beer through the Msr App with next day delivery, they have supported us repeatedly and we really now need to support them” said the Chairman.
