LOTS OF IDEAS AND FANTASTIC GESTURE FROM SUPPORTER DAVE PERRIN!

With Dave and Gavin away today, the other 4 members of the commercial team tasked with bringing money into the club had an urgent quickly arranged meeting at Stoke Lane today to attempt to come up with plans to clear a £7.900 Electric bill that has not been budgeted for.

One of Carlton’s longest attending supporters asked to attend and made a fantastic pledge to help. Dave Perrin has decided to sell his Memorabilia collection which equates to ten fantastic signed frames and he has handed the pictures over to the club on the understanding that the club will keep half the proceeds raised towards the Electric bill.

Dave is pictured with one of the cracking frames at Stoke Lane.

The club now has to decide whether to auction the items off on line, try and sell one or two at functions, do a super raffle for one of the items and a decision will follow when the club have digested a proposal put forward by deputy Commercial Manager Gaz Bee who was on top form at the meeting.

Chairman Mick Garton met with a potential Sponsor who came forward following the article on the website and Kelly and Gaz are working on a Sports Day proposal for Sunday 9th July.

The format will see 10 teams of 6 pay £60 a team (£10 a person) to compete at 9 different sport stations around the ground followed by a quiz hosted by Kelly in the Howard Mitchell Sportsbar which will be the 10th and final station for all the teams together.

Pool, Darts, Crossbar challenge, Cricket and a penalty shoot out have been confirmed as 5 of the 9 challenges and further details will follow.

The event will be open to kids and adults alike on a first come first served basis , so to secure an entry contact Boatsy on social media or on 07907 064189.

In other devolpments following the bombshell news of the massive electric bill, this website understands that pledges of help have been made from at least one sponsor, possibly two and more details will follow and Kelly is looking to set up a just giving page following feedback that people are willing to help but can’t afford huge amounts , so that aim is likely to be set at £500.

The hope is that with a raffle on the Sportsday, the club can close out close on 1k for that particular event.

The club are also set to hold a third speakers event in September to tackle this debt and the ongoing extra they will have to find has their direct debit as gone up by around £500 a month.

Friends of the club, The William Gun pub in West  Bridgford will make Carlton Town a beneficiary of their monthly quiz fund raising night on Monday 5th June and the club are hoping as many from the club as possible will attend the evening.

The chairman’s company Msr Newsgroup have some hospitality at Trent Bridge this year, they will also sell off some of the seats for particular games to raise money towards the horrendous bill for the club.

Boatsy and Bevan were on building duty at the ground today as well, with a stand to build and a beer garden too , it really has been all systems go in an effort to overcome a major challenge and then some.
