LOTS OF POSITIVES AT STOKE LANE DESPITE FA CUP DEFEAT!

An excellent first half display from Carlton Town which included a stunning finish from Niall Davie gave the Millers hope of reaching the next round.

Poor defending and another penalty Miss were sadly to cost the Millers in the second half and congratulations should go to step 3 club Stratford Town who were ruthless in closing the game out and running out 3-1 winners.

Despite their first defeat of the season and the disappointment of missing out on winning prize money, the Millers can take take many positives from the afternoon at Stoke Lane.

The millers had another decent attendance with 178 in the Bill Stokeld stadium and Arron Opoku received the Matchball Sponsors award for the Millers Man of the match courtesy of Gregory House 2. Josh Hodgson was also a happy man with another match day programme sell out!

Supporters and players came forward to back the 150 club and on top of three new supporters coming forward and joining, players Natt Watson, Tyler Johal, Jacob Sturgess and Khyle Sargent also joined the 150 club along with coach Phil Jennings.

B4 painting chief Mark Benner came forward to sponsor the forthcoming Bedworth United Fa Trophy game on October 9th, Boatsy announced he was sponsoring the Matchball for the Ilkeston Town clash on Saturday 18th September and Adam Charles said he will take up the mascot package for the Ilkeston game and Vice Chairman Barry North sponsorsed New goalkeeping coach Tomasz wasylik.

That wasn’t the end of the good news with DG Cars coming forward after the game and committing to sponsoring the Matchball for the clash with Coleshill and Chairman Mick Garton as tonight been in touch with Lee Carrington who will kindly sponsor the Match Ball on Tuesday for the game v Sutton Coldfield.

What a great effort from everyone and the big plus on top of that was the fantastic effort for the local food bank and councillor Nicki Brooks is pictured with Chairman Mick Garton and Supporters chief Alan Murphy with a pool table full of donations.

Carlton may have lost a big game and be out of the Fa Cup but Saturday 4th September was a day to be remembered for the right reasons with lots of people pulling together for this wonderful club and indeed the local community which Carlton are at the heart of !
