LUKE, SAMIT , SOME LATE DONATIONS FROM BOATSY AND ANOTHER TOP NIGHT AT CARLTON TOWN.

The late addition of Dave Bracegirdle to help host Carlton’s latest speakers evening proved a master stroke given his in depth knowledge of the lads and their background and he helped Chairman Mick Garton present another successful evening at Stoke Lane.
Mick teamed up with his trusted lieutenants Tim and Gaz Bee to get the fund raising started with a blind Memorabilia sale and some heads and tails and the club were massively boosted with some outstanding donations from friend of the club Boatsy.
Msr Newsgroup had already made some outstanding donations on the night themselves and the boost of some further stuff from Boatsy really helped the auction which was a huge success, particularly when Luke Fletcher took over as Auctioneer, he was on fire !
Both Nottinghamshire Cricketers went down a storm with the Carlton faithful and the room was in complete silence to listen to their tails, which was handy as the Clubhouse lived up to it’s Phoenix nights reputation with microphone issues.
Samit pointed out to Dave Bracegirdle that although he was holding the mike and talking into it, it hadn’t been working for 10 minutes and Dave just hadn’t noticed.
Fletch, quick witted and hilarious at times was the perfect foil for Samit and the 70 or so who supported the event went home happy and slightly lighter in the pocket.
For new joint manager Mark Harvey, it was his first event at the club and he made a point of coming up to the Chairman late on and saying how much he and his guests had enjoyed the evening and it was certainly nice to see some lively and lovely ladies in the building.
The club as always are grateful to the nights headline sponsors Castle Rock and of course Msr Newsgroup and it was great to see new home kit sponsors Lindleys again taking a table to support the club and the Chairman and Commitee are extremely grateful to all that purchased tables or tickets for the night and supported the fund raising in the way they did.
Boatsy’s late donations put the icing on the cake and as Samit Patel left the Bill Stokeld Stadium, he made a point of speaking to the Chairman and advising him he would donate a signed shirt for the club’s next fundraiser.
It was a fitting end to a lovely evening and from a fund raising point of view, attention now moves on to next Fridays “Night at the Dogs”
Tickets are £5 each and are available from either Mick Garton or Brian Dennett who was another club Commitee man on good form throughout the fundraising evening.
Brian can be contacted on 07850 234543.
The first home friendlies will follow on Tuesday 9th July against a Notts County X1 and against Hucknall Town on Saturday 13th July followed by an early evening Race night.
