MATCH HIGHLIGHTS SHOW THE BRILLIANCE OF DAVIE FREE KICK AND ALL THE DRAMA ON FA TROPHY SATURDAY AND MILLERS MAKE ANOTHER BIG APPOINTMENT!
There really is so much going on at Stoke Lane at the moment, we took up our positions in the Carlton Town office today to reflect on a magical Saturday, in particular for Jack Steggles and no sooner had we taken our seats, there were rumours coming in from sources at the club that Boatsy in his new role as Commercial and Marketing Manager of the club was considering carrying out the resurrection of the Miller Mouse.
There are no firm bones to this story at the moment, but we will follow it closely to see if it has any legs as it were !
More importantly however, we have managed to get the footage from Saturday’s memorable Fa Trophy win on penalties downloaded to Carlton Town Tv and what a wonderful free kick indeed from Niall Davie, a contender for goal of the season already we would suggest!
On the back of Jack Steggles heroic performance, Niall was easily the one other player that shone throughout at times a below par performance from the Millers.
The standards the management have set however are high and that was reflected in the final penalties taken in the shootout with the much loved Daryl Thomas particularly pleased with his !
There was more good news for Carlton and another exciting appointment with John Bryson joining the media team at Stoke Lane from next Saturday, John a close associate of Joint manager Tommy Brookbanks is the new press officer who will deputise for Josh Hodgson when he is unavailable and also take up Stadium announcement duties after Alan Murphy as done his pre match musical extravaganza.
John will also contribute in other areas and will be on Carlton Town Tv in the coming days.
He told us ” Many thanks for inviting me to join the club, I have a desire to move back into the media side of helping a football club and I appreciate being asked to join in such a capacity”
John certainly enjoyed himself on Saturday and made an excellent impression among the Carlton faithful and Josh is really looking forward to working with the former Police officer who is compelling company and the club are delighted to welcome him on board.
